The Perfect Path

Flew back from Missouri to Fresno today. Came up with a few thoughts on the way back. First one was when I was thinking about the perfect path. Wrote this down in the spirit of the narraration of Pi.

9:35 am. Restate my assumptions. One. That there exists in every poker tournament perfect opportunities where you can increase your chip count without any risk. Two. These perfect opportunities arise with enough frequency that a player can gather more chips than are being blinded off. Three. If a player can capture every perfect opportunity, he can get heads-up without ever seeing a flop. Therefore...

It is possible to win every poker tournament that you play

Yeah that was me... Sullivan's is the only place I know of in Fresno that has those Photohunt machines... my girlfriend Gianna is a huge fan.

Fresno's not too bad... worse places out there, definitely... like Vegas. ;)

I don't really play too much live poker any more. Mostly online tournament. I went over to Club One a couple of weeks ago and played their Saturday tournament. It was pretty decent, and I'll probably be back over there to play some more tourneys. Besides Club One, where is there to play?

i pretty much stick to online tournaments too (pokerstars), but every once in a while you get that urge to play live. club one is pretty much the only place that offers tournaments consistently, but every once in a while table mountain will hold a big tourney. they advertise them in the sports page of the fresno bee, so just keep your eyes peeled.

Hey Dutch,

I ran into you about 2 and half years ago at Bay 101. That was you right? The guy with the AK beat by an asian crazy women in a Limit Holdem tourney.

When I come to Fresno, there is a checklist that you need to have completed.

First, you need to scout that Fresno Bee and make sure you know what tournies are running and where.

Second, you need to have my buyin inside a sealed envelope, ready to go. Small bills please.

Third, make sure you know of some good bars in the area so we can go out and get shitfaced when I win the tournies and you come in 2nd. Been missing out on some good bars. No good bars in Baton Rouge, Station is the best thing happenin out here and even that place sucks.

Fourth, a nice bed so that I can pass out or have some fun ala Dutch Style (you remember, the Station, Gaines' house) after returning from the bar.

Fifth, my plane ticket back to Baton Rouge stapled to my luggage, so that way if I'm still shitfaced in the morning I won't forget where I put my ticket.
